To help Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation make a huge splash in theaters, we partnered with Sony Pictures to launch an interactive, family-friendly website. But it wasn’t just a microsite with the trailer and a photo gallery. In this engaging and challenging digital experience, we transformed a custom video into an interactive game to delight fans of all ages.
Throughout the video, key “hotspots” were cleverly hidden within the scenes. Guided by clues on the playback bar, fans were prompted to look closely and either click or tap when they found them. Their results were ranked, and fans were encouraged to re-play the game to beat their high score — compelling them to watch the video again and again for even more fun and laughs leading up to the film’s release.
